Invicta Pest Control was built by a family that knows firsthand what it means to protect a home. After we adopted two of our five children and saw the conditions they had been living in, we made a promise: no family should have to feel unsafe where they live. That mission shapes how we handle every job, including wasp control across the Raleigh, NC area.
Wasps are territorial and aggressive, especially when a nest is disturbed. Paper wasps, yellow jackets, and hornets all build nests in different locations around your property, and each species requires a different approach. DIY removal puts you at serious risk of multiple stings, particularly with yellow jackets nesting underground or hornets tucked inside wall voids. Our team includes a Board Certified Entomologist with 20+ years of experience who can identify the species, locate every nest on your property, and remove them without putting your family in danger.
Most pest control companies will spray a wasp nest from a distance and call it done. We take a different approach. Our technicians start with a full property inspection, checking under eaves, along rooflines, inside bushes, around sheds, and even underground for yellow jacket nests. We use extension poles that reach up to 24 feet, so nests on upper stories and high soffits are well within our range.
Once we have identified every nest and confirmed the species, we apply a targeted treatment directly to the nest and the surrounding entry points. We never do broad, spray-and-pray applications. Our methods are precise, which keeps product away from your living spaces and out of reach of kids and pets. If the nest is in a wall void or another enclosed space, we treat the entry point so returning wasps carry the product back to the colony.
We start with a thorough inspection of your entire property. Inside, we check attics, wall voids, window frames, and ceiling corners. Outside, we examine eaves, soffits, gutters, porch ceilings, tree branches, sheds, and the ground for underground nests. Identifying the species and nest location is critical because paper wasps, yellow jackets, and hornets each call for a different treatment strategy.
Once we locate every nest on your property, we treat each one directly with professional-grade products designed for stinging insects. For nests on upper floors or high eaves, our extension poles reach up to 24 feet. For underground yellow jacket nests or nests inside wall voids, we treat the entry points so returning wasps carry the product into the colony. We never leave a nest partially treated.
After the colony is eliminated, we physically remove accessible nests and knock down any remnants. We also treat the surrounding area to discourage new colonies from building in the same spots. If you are on one of our recurring pest control plans, we clear wasp nests during every scheduled visit, so new nests never get a chance to grow.

Wasp removal is just one piece of what we do. Invicta Pest Control offers recurring pest control on a triannual schedule, which means three visits per year instead of the industry-standard four. Fewer treatments, better products, and stronger long-term protection for your home. We also handle mosquito control, termite protection, wildlife exclusion, crawl space encapsulation, and more. If something is bugging you, we can help.
We are a mom-owned, family-focused pest control company with real credentials behind the work. Our team includes a Board Certified Entomologist, an Environmental Scientist, and a Wildlife Biologist from NC State. That level of in-house expertise is almost unheard of outside the large national chains, and it makes a real difference when you are dealing with stinging insects. We can tell you exactly what species of wasp you have, where they are nesting, and why they chose your property, so we can solve the problem the right way the first time.
We invest in premium products and targeted methods so you are not paying for repeated visits that do not solve the problem. Our wasp treatments are designed to eliminate the colony and prevent rebuilding, not just knock down a visible nest.
If wasps come back between scheduled visits, so do we, at no extra charge. We also offer same-day or next-day service when you have an urgent stinging insect problem. Your safety is not something we take lightly.
We started this company because of our own kids. That personal connection to family safety drives every decision we make, from the products we choose to the way we approach a nest on your property.
Yes. We use targeted applications direct
No. You do not need to leave your home during wasp treatment. Most of our work happens on the exterior of the house, targeting nests under eaves, along rooflines, or underground. If we need to treat an interior area, we simply ask that pets and children stay in a separate room until we finish. You are welcome to be home and watch the entire process.
You may see a handful of returning wasps for about 24 hours after the nest is removed. These are foraging wasps that were away from the nest during treatment. They will fly around the old nest location looking for it, and they may be agitated, so we recommend staying away from that area until activity stops. If you are on one of our recurring plans and the problem persists, we will come back at no additional cost.
We know that a wasp nest feels like an emergency, especially if someone in your household is allergic to stings. We typically schedule wasp removal the same day or next day, depending on our availability. We move as quickly as we can to get a technician to your property.
Absolutely. You can take a photo of the nest or the stinging insects from a safe distance and send it to us. Our team, including a Board Certified Entomologist, can usually identify the species from a photo alone. This helps us prepare the right treatment before we even arrive and saves everyone time. It is also a great way to find out whether you are dealing with wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, or even honey bees, which are protected and handled differently.
